About Sativa

Sativa’s name is inspired by the Hindu deities Sati and Shiva—divine archetypes of love, transformation, and spiritual devotion. Their story is one of cosmic union: Sati, the goddess of loyalty and self-sacrifice, and Shiva, the god of yoga and awakening. Their love transcends life and death, reminding us of the eternal dance between the sacred feminine and masculine. This mythic love story resonates deeply with Sativa and mirrors her own path of devotion, transformation, and balance through the practice of yoga.

Much like Sati and Shiva, Sativa’s teaching embodies the harmony between stillness and strength, softness and structure. Her classes are rooted in this philosophy of balance—offering space for both discipline and surrender, movement and rest, yin and yang. Her name is not only symbolic but a daily reminder of the divine energies she strives to embody and share through her teachings.

Sativa’s relationship with yoga began at birth, nurtured by her mother’s influence and sustained throughout every chapter of her life. For all 23 years of her journey, yoga has been her grounding force—a practice that has supported her through the many seasons of growth, change, and self-discovery.

Her background as a competitive dancer has gifted her with a deep understanding of movement, alignment, and body awareness. Dance taught her discipline and expression; yoga brought her home to herself. In her classes, these two worlds converge—fluid, mindful transitions meet intentional alignment, inviting students into a moving meditation that is both embodied and expansive.

Sativa is a compassionate and intuitive teacher, known for her poetic language, intentional sequencing, and thoughtful integration of breath, energy, and somatic awareness. Whether guiding a dynamic vinyasa, a deeply restorative yin, or a nurturing nidra practice, she weaves in her reverence for both the mystical and the practical—offering a practice that meets students wherever they are.

She draws inspiration from many incredible teachers and lineages she’s had the honor of learning from, including immersive trainings at Alchemy Yoga in Ubud and Uluwatu, Bali. These teachings, along with her own life experiences, shape her classes into transformative experiences that go beyond the mat—awakening physical vitality, emotional resilience, and a deeper connection to self.

With each class, Sativa invites you into sacred space—one where your breath becomes prayer, your body becomes art, and your spirit remembers. Through her guidance, students are empowered to explore the full spectrum of being and to discover the balance, strength, and stillness that already live within.
